First off, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! Hope everyone's doing something cool with their old man today. I will be going out for dinner with the fam for....surprise surprise....GREEK FOOD. OMG my family is so predictable.

I found out from my wonderful flist that Katee is joining 24. I am squealing with happiness! The show hasn't been good for a while, but I was happy with how it ended and the fact that it seemed like they were going back to the family element of the series that I loved so much the first three seasons. And now with Katee joining the cast? That can only be a good thing.

But...also...Freddie Prinze Jr. is joining the cast. And will be Katee's boyfriend on the show. Oh. Oh, dear.

Also reminded me that I made some 24 quotage icons ages ago so if you like the show and want to pimp, check 'em out. They're pretty funny.

Oh! Also! I saw Star Trek and Wolverine last Friday. The Trek was fucking awesome (please do me, Chris Fiiiiiiiine) and Wolverine was very mediocre and cheesy. Which is too bad. They messed with backstory in a way that I wasn't too fond of. Hmm.

Oh, man. You guys. You have to check out t h i s interview a couple of fans ( at 3xcusemyfrench ) did with Jamie Bamber at the Jules Verne Festival in France. The first thing they ask about is Kara and the end. And his answer pretty much makes me cry. Maybe it'll help me come to grips with how much I hated the ending.

Interesting Katee interview. I couldn't help but smirk when she looked at the camera and said, "Go eff yourself". But really, I'm pretty sure she hates the Starbuck/Apollo shippers now, because she's been given the incorrect impression that we're all assholes. Some of us are, of course. That's inevitable when you're dealing with...people. But it makes me sad that the "eff you" probably applies to me a little. I guess I "lost my shit" when I heard what she said at the Cort & Fatboy Q&A, but it obviously wasn't that I was furious with her. I was just really sad about the whole thing.

I think we all know that what Michael Trucco went through was terrifying and could have been so tragic. And we all adore him and are so happy it turned out alright. And inevitably fans' disappointment about the show has come across as people being annoyed that Trucco's accident led to changes in the show. Which, obviously, seems like a horrible thing to think or feel. We're talking about a real live human being who almost died and we're worried about fictional characters on a TV show?

But I hope everyone understands that that's really not what it's about. I think that what happened to Michael and what happened on the show are so completely separate and that's why it was a difficult thing to grasp - at least for me. Obviously it's a hell of a lot harder for someone like Katee and everyone who knows and works with Michael to separate the two. And I can understand that. Totally.

I don't know. I just wanted to set the record straight, for my own peace of mind. Peace out!

Alright, kids. Can we talk about this?

From the recapper: 'Yes, Starbuck loved Lee. She was "obsessed" with Lee. With Anders, she had a "grown up love." Was easy for her to play the pain of saying goodbye to him.'

I just....when did this happen? When were Kara and Lee reduced to "obsession"? I can definitely see how Katee would get that impression from the way their relationship was portrayed in the finale, but my mind is just boggled as to how the writers could do such a 180 on this relationship in the final stretch. It makes NO sense to me. Obviously, from my perspective, Kara and Lee's relationship was far more "grown up" by the end of the series than Kara/Sam. Hell, K/S didn't even address any of the issues between them, and the only reason they maybe would have is because Sam was shot in the neck.

I'd be cool if the purpose of the finale was to show that, while Kara/Lee were what you may call "soulmates" (i.e. connected to each other more than they were to anyone else), they ultimately weren't meant to be together. And that Kara essentially would have made the choice to build her life with Sam, because she did love him.

I'm trying to be indifferent to it all but it's depressing to just not care because it basically means I'll never enjoy this show nearly as much as I did. It all just...really bothers me.

In other news, I still fucking love Katee Sackhoff. So there.

OK, so I hate American Idol as much as the next person (ha) but I absolutely must share video of this contestant, Adam Lambert, singing 'Mad World' from last week, because I think he is absolutely sensational.
